Dr Ganters Biography

Dr Peter Ganter completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1992 and was accepted for registrar training in 1997, with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He qualified as a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2003.

Peter commenced private practice based at Cleveland in 2003, but has since moved his rooms to to Wickham Terrace in Brisbane.

Peter currently has a well established metropolitan based obstetric and gynaecology practice. He also conducts infertility services through the Queensland Fertility Group, of which he is an associate. Peter provides surgical services at the Wesley Hospital, St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital and Greenslopes Private Hospital; and all obstetric services at the Wesley Hospital. In addition, Peter is also a visiting medical officer at the Military base Enoggera. He also conducts regular clinics at both Oxley and Ashgrove.

Peters main areas of interest are in obstetrics, but he has a special focus male and endometrial factor infertility. Peter is married to Anne and they have two children Jonathan and Julia. Peter is very much a hands on father or two and Anne is very much a mother of three!!!

Peter is an amateur historian, with a keen interest in Brisbane's and Sydney's history, as well as being an avid collector of Australiana artifacts (especially convict made bricks, that are piling up at his home), photos and bric-a-brack. He has been known to enjoy the odd scotch or white wine on the very rare nights he has off.
